Thermo Fisher Scientific to invest in developing its production in Lithuania

Thermo Fisher Scientific, the largest company in the world offering products and services to science, is to invest 33 million LTL (9.7 million EUR) in the development of its production for life sciences research and diagnostics in its subsidiary in Lithuania. The increase in the company’s production will lead to the creation of 110 new jobs in Vilnius by the end of 2016.

The 2014 Baseline Profitability Index (BPI), presented in Foreign Policy magazine by Daniel Altman, rates Lithuania the most favourable country for investment in the Baltic States and ranks it second in Europe for expected investment returns.

Innovation of VGTU scientists – facilitating oncological diseases‘ diagnosis

Scientists of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) created an electronic smart chip for medical purposes, in order to obtain three-dimensional images. This technology will facilitate the diagnosis of oncological diseases and will contribute to the creation of handheld ultrasound apparatus of new generation.
